Since 1984, the Fort Asperen Foundation has been organizing, where possible on a yearly basis, events and exhibitions with the focus on arts, history of the fort or nature. A high artistic quality always comes first, independent of the theme of the exhibition. Whether it is an exhibition on arts, bats, or the fort as a part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie (New Dutch Waterline). In general the exhibitions are held in high esteem, which explains the large interest of the national, regional and local press. Due to the activities of the foundation, a unique monument, located at a unique spot in the Dutch countryside, has been given a special vocation.
